Dr. O’Riordan is currently Director of the Cardiology Division of Mercy Catholic Medical Center. He received his B.S. (Deans List) in Biophysics at University of Scranton and subsequently graduated from Thomas Jefferson University Medical School. Dr. O’Riordan completed his residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at Lankenau Hospital. He did additional training in sports cardiology with attention to prevention of sudden death in athletes during a sabbatical in Italy in 2006.
Dr. O’Riordan’s areas of special interest include Sports Cardiology and Prevention of Sudden Death in Athletes, Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Noninvasive Peripheral Vascular Ultrasound. An accomplished physician, Dr. O’Riordan has authored numerous papers and presentations and is a frequent speaker on the topic of Sudden Cardiac Death in Athletes. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
