An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a portable device used to administer an electric shock to the heart and restore the heart’s normal rhythm. AEDs are very affordable and very easy to use. In addition, they incorporate a number of safety features that prevent misuse and ensure that a shock can only be delivered to a victim requiring it.
