Jon Darnell founded Patolan Partners in 2011 as a registered representative of KDC Securities to offer high quality, genuinely differentiated private placements – both funds and direct investments, particularly in alternative energy and clean-tech – to wealthy family and institutional investors with $100 million to $5 billion in assets.
Prior to Patolan, Darnell was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley in its dedicated ultra-high net worth group, Private Wealth Management, where he provided investment advice on alternative assets for a small number of private clients with combined total capital exceeding five billion dollars.
Before joining Wall Street, Darnell had a successful career in public interest advocacy and social entrepreneurship, various senior management and board capacities for the nation’s largest environmental and citizen advocacy group, the Public Interest Network, and leading Telefund Inc. from start-up to prominence in its industry. Darnell graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University in philosophy and earned his MBA in finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is an avid and former nationally-ranked squash player and an accomplished musician, graduating with a double major in oboe and composition from the Juilliard School, Pre-College Division.
